McKinney will play three roles on the Giants defense after splitting his snaps evenly at deep safety, nickel back, and as a box safety in Nick Saban's defense at Alabama. Epenesa or Gro s-Matos would have played one role, and it's hard to project where. The Giants are expected to move forward with a Patriots-esque defense that often resembles a 3-3-5 bear front look.
