400X flow control valve is mainly used in water supply, air conditioning, fire protection piping system. The medium is water, and the temperature is ≤80°C.

It uses the pressure of the medium itself to control the opening of the main valve core, stabilize the outlet flow at the set value, and keep the outlet flow constant when the inlet pressure is unstable, and is used on pipelines that need to control the flow.

It consists of main valve, flow regulator, needle valve, pilot valve, ball valve, and pressure gauge.

How the 400X Flow Control Valve works

Open the needle and ball valves. Loosen the lock nut of the pilot valve, turn the adjusting screw of the pilot valve clockwise, the pilot valve core will open, and the medium will flow through the pilot valve to the outlet. The pressure in the upper chamber of the diaphragm of the main valve decreases, and under the action of the medium pressure, the main valve core is opened, the medium flows through the main valve core to the outlet, and the flow behind the valve begins to increase.

When the flow rate behind the valve rises to the set value, the pressure under the diaphragm of the pilot valve and the setting spring maintain balance. Both the pilot valve and the main valve maintain a certain opening, and the flow control valve works normally. Finally tighten the locknut.

When the pre-valve pressure rises: The pressure of the medium flowing under the diaphragm of the pilot valve also rises. Push the pilot valve core to close, and the flow rate of the medium flowing out of the pilot valve becomes smaller. The pressure in the upper chamber of the main valve diaphragm rises gradually. The pressure in the upper chamber makes the main valve core tend to close, the flow of the main valve decreases and returns to the set value.

When the pressure before the valve drops: the pressure flowing through the lower part of the pilot valve diaphragm also drops, and under the action of the regulating spring, the pilot valve core tends to open. When the medium flows out of the pilot valve, the flow rate increases, and the pressure in the upper chamber of the main valve diaphragm decreases. The main valve core tends to open under the action of pressure difference, the outlet flow of the main valve rises and returns to the set value.

When it is necessary to limit the maximum flow of the main valve. Turn the flow regulator handwheel clockwise. The regulator stem moves downward, limiting the maximum position the main spool can open upward. Thus limiting the maximum flow of the main valve.

Instructions for use of 400X flow control valve

1. Turn the pilot valve adjustment screw clockwise to increase the outlet flow of the main valve. Turn the pilot valve adjustment screw counterclockwise, the outlet flow of the main valve will decrease.

2. Turn the handwheel of the flow regulator clockwise to make the maximum flow value of the main valve smaller. Turning the handwheel of the flow regulator counterclockwise can increase the maximum flow value of the main valve.

3. When the inlet pressure changes from 0.8 times the nominal pressure to 1 times the nominal pressure. The deviation of the outlet flow change is less than or equal to ±8%-12% of the set value.

4. A filter should be installed in front of the main valve to prevent impurities from clogging the conduit and needle valve.
