In a recent Diablo 2 Resurrected Livestream

The main developers of Diablo 2 Resurrected have stressed that they don't want players to "feel that they have to pay to win" when the game launches next year.

With a wry smile they continue "stay and watch, we could have something in the future to announce but no promises." The announcement immediately provoked an response from the producer of dungeons Ash Sweetring, who channelled her inner Mr. Burns with an 'interesting' hand motion on the screen. Now that's what I call sus. If any variation of the follower-based system makes them into Diablo 2 Resurrected, I would prefer it to be a Diablo 2-style hired gun instead of omnipresent players. I really enjoyed the vast range of different abilities followers offered when they played Diablo 2 and would love to see this innovated. This D2R Items opens up even more possibilities for various types of builds, as well as amazing demon-slaying ability chains.

In the meantime you might want to study the classes in Diablo 2 Resurrected, since they're the ones we'll be playing as mostly. In an interview with gaming director Joe Shely, however, it was said that the roster could expand in the future because it's not like there's a permanent thing in Sanctuary.

The main developers of Diablo 2 Resurrected have stressed that they don't want players to "feel that they have to pay to win" when the game launches next year.

In a recent Diablo 2 Resurrected Livestream (opens in new tab), game director Joe Shely, along with the associate director of games Joesph Piepiora also community manager Adam Fletcher gave fans an update on all things Diablo 2 Resurrected, as well as giving an insight into how things will work ahead of the game's release this summer.

During the livestream during the stream, the group discussed the Diablo 2 Resurrected battle pass (around the 39:15 mark in the video below) along with the upcoming seasons of the game. "It's extremely important for us to make sure that we're balancing the elements you'd see inside the combat pass" Piepiora said, "the way that they're compelling but still very fair. We don't wish to create any situation where players can feel that they have to pay. "To create a clear distinction in between battle passes and Diablo 2 Resurrected's seasons Piepiora explained that "the season journey is still within Diablo 2 Resurrected, in the same way you experienced it within Diablo 3." The chapter-based mechanic offers players a variety of goals throughout the season and will let players to earn in-game rewards that will be rewarded to the character they choose. "All of the seasonal content is completely free. The content is not tied to the battle pass itself," Shely adds.

To eliminate any confusion, Shely clarified that, when Diablo 2 Resurrected launches on June 6, 2023, it will not start immediately with season one. "Season one will start a few just a few weeks after the launch of the game, and when season one starts, everyone will be starting in the same way, so all players will be on an equal starting point," the developer said. The competitive elements of Diablo 2 Resurrected (e.g. : leader boards) will likely to be available in the coming seasons and buy D2R Ladder Items those who do not purchase early access to the game won't be able to complain about any unfairness.
