It Comes At Night is an intense film that explores the dangers of a lone red door and the way it can destroy a micro-society built on fear, especially when that society's very existence depends on that red door. The Ritual (2017) is a horror film that combines classic backwoods horror movies with modern psycho-thriller elements. Writer Joe Barton adapted the novel from Adam Nevill, and director David Bruckner brings a distinctive Scandi flavor to the screen.

In Nicolas Winding Refn's latest film, The Neon Demon, Elle Fanning plays Jesse, a 16-year-old girl who comes to Los Angeles to become a model. She finds herself torn between a manipulative makeup artist (Jena Malone) and her catty model friends, and a sadistic motel manager played by Keanu Reeves.
The film is an ode to the fashion industry and the perils of superficiality. It's also an homage to Dario Argento’s Suspiria, which is reflected in the fluid visual style and flashing lights throughout the movie.
Compared to his earlier films, like Only God Forgives and Bronson, Refn has made a more straight narrative here. But his cultish vibes are still thrown in to entertain the audience.
